Mit den Ölfunden in den 1960er-Jahren kam unermesslicher Reichtum nach Abu Dhabi und verwandelte es in eine futuristische Metropole. Schauen Sie sich um: Worauf Ihr Blick auch trifft, es glitzert und glänzt ganz bestimmt. Vor allem bei einem Gebäude wurde nicht gespart: Die Sheikh-Zayed-Moschee ist das weltweit drittgrößte islamische Gotteshaus – mit der größten Moscheekuppel überhaupt. Sie ist über 70 Meter hoch und spannt sich über 32 Meter.

Doha
Eine unvergleichliche Skyline aus gewaltigen Wolkenkratzern und einzigartiger Architektur, beeindruckende Museen und ruhelose orientalische Souks machen einen Besuch in Katar zum unvergesslichen Erlebnis.
In Doha herrscht heißes Wüstenklima. Der Sommer ist außergewöhnlich lang und heiß. Nicht selten steigt das Thermometer über 50 °C, wobei das Jahresmittel bei ca. 26 °C liegt.
Sir Bani Yas
Naturparadies der Emirate
Vor Abu Dhabi liegt das Naturschutzgebiet Sir Bani Yas. Hier wartet ein Wildleben wie aus dem Bilderbuch auf Sie: Antilopen, Gazellen, Giraffen, Hyänen und viele andere Tiere lassen sich in spannenden Rundfahrten bewundern.
In den VAE herrscht ganzjährig ein arides Klima. Regen gibt es zumeist nur während der Wintermonate. Die Temperaturen fallen selten unter 20 ˚C. Im Sommer (Mai bis August) klettert das Thermometer schon einmal auf 50 ˚C.
Muscat
Sultanat mit exotischer Urlaubswürze
Zwischen der spektakulären Architektur Dubais und der goldenen Pracht Abu Dhabis wirkt Muscat wie eine Zeitkapsel, in der das traditionelle Leben Arabiens konserviert wurde. In der Hauptstadt Omans, die eindrucksvoll vor dem Hadschar-Gebirge liegt, flanieren Sie nicht über breite Boulevards, sondern entdecken in den schmalen Gassen zwischen niedrigen Häusern Marktstände, kleine Plätze, urtümliche Lokale und vieles mehr. Weniger bescheiden lebt Sultan Qabus: Sein majestätischer Palast mit den markanten blauen und goldfarbenen Säulen erhebt sich inmitten von Muscat. Was für ein Fotomotiv!
In Oman kann man ganzjährig Sonnenschein und blauen Himmel erwarten. Es regnet wenig. Im Winter herrschen tagsüber angenehme Temperaturen um die 25 °C.
